RESISTANT FALCIPARUM MALARIA IN IBADAN

SUMMARY
A 14 - day in vivo chloroquine sensitivity study was carried out in 20 children aged 3 months to 5 years. The children were brought to the General OutPatient Department (GOPD) of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan. Results show that 18 children (90 %) had sensitive strains of the parasite and 2 children (10 %) had resistant Falciparum malaria. The resistant strains were at RII level.
