S. Duparc

SUMMARY
" Malaria and Infectious Diseases in Africa " was started after the first Panafrican Meeting on Malaria in February 1994 and is now 4 years old. This journal, which must become the African Platform on malaria, can only grow with the contribution of all the actors in the fight against malaria in Africa. The process to obtain the ISBN agreement is under progress, this agreement will help the journal to be registered into the index medicus for referencing purpose. Malaria and infectious diseases in Africa was launched on Internet in October 1997, the abstracts of all the issues, published until now, are available on-line. Indexation in the main search engines help us to increase the number of people visiting the site. In 1998 around 50 people were coming daily. The aim of this enterprise is to make know Malaria journal beyond Africa and to prove at worldwide scientists that research programmes are feasible in Africa and that fight against malaria is not possible without African malariologists which are the main actors of this fight.
